Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
about your Medical Alarm Watch

HOW DO I GET STARTED WHEN HANDLING THIS WATCH FOR THE FIRST TIME?
By identifying the different parts and functions of your vibrating alarm wrist watch: The crescent opening at 6 o’clock serves as a visible setting area for time, calendar and the six alarms. The six dots serve as visible confirmations for the alarms set and the buttons serve to access and to set the different functions as explained below.

HOW DO I MOVE FROM ONE FUNCTION TO THE NEXT?
By using and pressing the black button at 8 o’clock repeatedly, which takes you through 8 different functions (Time, Calendar, Alarm1, Alarm2, Alarm3, Alarm4, Alarm5, Alarm6 and then it starts again with Time etc.)

HOW DO I SET THE ALARMS TO SOUND OR VIBRATION?
When the watches are shipped all the alarms are de-activated for obvious reasons. So when using the black button and going from one function to the next, the alarms show as blanks at the left side of the crescent opening. However the confirmation dot will blink to let you know in which alarm you actually are. To activate the alarm press repeatedly the striped button at 2 o’clock and you will see that the left side changes from blank (not activated) to V plus a number behind, such as V1, which means Vibration1 and then to A1, which means Sound Alarm1 and then again to blank etc.

HOW DO I SET THE TIME, CALENDAR AND ALARMS?
The setting procedure for all these settings is the same. First you use the black button to go to alarm 1 for instance. Then you press the plain button at 4 o’clock for 2 seconds and the first digits start blinking. Now you can adjust this part by pressing the striped button at 2 o’clock repeatedly until you reach the desired hour. Then you press the plain button at 4 o’clock again shortly and the next pair of digits starts blinking. Now you can adjust the minutes by pressing the striped button at 2 o’clock repeatedly again until you reach the desired minutes. Then again you go back to the plain button at 4 o’clock and press it shortly and the last segment of the digits start blinking. With the striped button at 2 o’clock you can now adjust the AM/PM. When finished adjusting this part, press one more time the plain button at 4 o’clock and nothing will blink anymore and everything is set and confirmed. Sounds complicated, but it is not. All the settings are done with the 2 buttons on the right side of the watch by repeating the procedure across the group of digits. The only important thing to remember is to press for 2 seconds to initiate the setting procedure. This was done to make sure that nobody could accidentally change the settings, by just touching or pressing a button.

HOW CAN I TELL WHICH ALARMS ARE SET AND ACTIVATED?
By looking at the six small round openings in the dial. If the background is neutral (very pale green) then the alarm is not activated. If the upper part of the opening is black, then a sound alarm is activated. If the lower part of the opening is black, then a vibration alarm is activated.

HOW TO SET THE TIME/ALARMS WHEN TRAVELING OVER DIFFERENT TIME ZONES?
The normal time settings are to have the analog time part (dial and hands) and the digital time part (TI) set identically. The 6 alarms are synchronized with the digital time setting. Depending upon the duration of the trip the following procedures are recommended:

  • For short trips only change the analog part (dial and hands) and leave digital time at home time. As a result you do not change your rhythm at all and are always in sync with home time.
  • For longer trip change both, analog and digital time to the new local time and change both back when returning home. As a result you change your rhythm when you arrive at our new destination and change it again when returning home.
  • If the time zone difference is more than 3 hours we recommend to adjust the alarm time gradually, such as 1 to 2 hours per day. A physician should be consulted as well.

CAN I USE THIS WATCH AS A STOP WATCH?
No, we elected to put the minimum of special functions into this watch to make it easier to set and to use. This is a MULTI ALARM WATCH without any additional and confusing functions.

HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?
Depending upon the number of alarms activated, especially the vibration alarm, and how often the backlight is used. Minimum battery life is 6 – 8 months and maximum battery life is over 2 years.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THE BATTERY?
When vibration alarms stop vibrating it is time to replace the battery, which can be done by a local jewelry store, department store or similar. Always use the correct battery type, which is Lithium 3volt CR 2032.

IS THIS WATCH WATER RESISTANT AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Every watch is tested to a water pressure of 5 ATM (165 feet) before leaving the factory. Therefore it can be used for the shower and for swimming (metal bracelet version only). However when changing the battery, the watch should be checked again to be water resistant by the store who replaces the battery. If this is not done there is a danger that the watch will leak and as a result malfunction or stop working.

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY AND WHAT DOES IT COVER?
It is a 1-year limited warranty, which covers materials and manufacturing defects. Some parts are excluded. Please refer to the details described in Warranty.

HOW CAN I GET SERVICE IF NEEDED AND CAN I GET SPARE PARTS?
